What does the carnival cost?
The carnival costs around £6000 to stage.
This includes:
Event Insurance
Security
St Johns Ambulance
Road closures
Road signs
Mobile toilets
Printing
Prize money
Brass bands (including St Agnes Silver Band)
We also make annual donations to local groups and charities.
Its financed by sponsorship money, donations, fundraising events and a street collection.
The street collection takes a team of 9 or 10 people 5 or 6 hours to count!
In 2017 the total cost was £6995.20 and the income £6323.00
In 2018 the total cost was £5934.80 and the income £5163.84
We try to maintain a bank balance of around £3 – 4000 in case of bad weather, or other factors that may cancel or limit the carnival.
