The carnival costs around £7500 to stage
This includes
- Event Insurance
- Security
- St Johns Ambulance
- Road closures
- Road signs
- Mobile toilets
- Printing
- Prize money
- Brass bands (including St Agnes Silver Band)
We also make annual donations to local groups and charities.
It is financed by sponsorship money, donations, fundraising events and street collection.
The street collection takes a team of 9 or 10 people 5 or 6 hours to count!
Just as an example:
In 2017 the total cost was £6995.20 and the income £6323.00
In 2018 the total cost was £5934.80 and the income £5163.84
We try to maintain a bank balance of around £3-4000 in case of bad weather, or other factors that may cancel or limit the carnival.
